RSS feeds are rather useful for many reasons. Often times, we are not concerned with every little update that a website has. It is simply not that relevant to us. But for the few things that we are concerned with the new updates, RSS plays an important role. Subscribing to an RSS feed allows a user to be notified of when new information comes out. This prevents the user from having to constantly check back every so often to look for the update.
It would be extremely useful for a classroom teacher to make use of an RSS feed because then students can be notified of updates in the class's website without having to check each day to see when the update was created.
